CTrain Service Information
February 23-25: Victoria Park/Stampede Station (Single Tracking)
Affected routes: Red Line
Affected stations: Victoria Park/Stampede
Affected service hours:
- Friday, February 23 (starting at 8 p.m. until end of service)
- Saturday, February 24 (all day)
- Sunday, February 25 (start of service until 5 p.m.)
What to expect:
The station will NOT be fully closed, this is a partial closure.
The southbound tracks will be closed at Victoria Park/Stampede Station for maintenance work starting at 8 p.m. on Friday, February 23 until 5 p.m. on Sunday, February 25.
This means the trains will only be using one track at this station for travel in both directions. Whether you’re heading northbound towards City Centre/Tuscany, or southbound towards Somerset-Bridlewood, you will need to catch the train at the northbound platform.
Full CTrain service will be back up and running again at Victoria Park/Stampede Station as of 5 p.m. Sunday, February 25.
Why are we doing this?
We know closures can have an impact on your travel, which is why we try to keep them as minimally disruptive as possible. That’s also why they’re so important – because doing preventative work and maintenance now can ensure we’re providing Calgarians with a safe, reliable, and efficient transit system.
When looking at the work that needs to be done at (or between) specific stations, we always try to see if closing just one side of the tracks is a safe, effective, and available option. Also known as “single tracking”, this type of closure allows us to complete the important work while also keeping train traffic moving!
Work being done this weekend includes:
- underground storm line installation adjacent to the track
- cleaning and work near the Big 4
- framing for cladding on the outbound canopy
- measurements on the steel structure of the outbound canopy
